Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Resolve to Read in 2011

Top Ten Tuesdays is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

This week's topic: Top Ten Books I Resolve to Read in 2011.. you know all those ones you keep saying you are going to get to but haven't yet. No more procrastination in 2011!

1. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
I just need to finish this. The first half was great, but for some reason I had to put it down to do or read something else.

2. The Host by Stephenie Meyer
People really like this, whether they liked Twilight or not, and I've been trying to read it for a while. But I refused to pay $16 for the paperback. I now have it and plan to read it before winter is through.

3. Going Bovine by Libba Bray
I've been wanting this book since before it was released, but I don't (didn't) like hardbacks (weird I know), so I wanted to wait for the paperback. Now I have it but still haven't gotten to it. What am I waiting for?!!

4. Ash by Malinda Lo
I've been wanting this book all of last year, but it took me all of last year just to get it.

5. Feeling Sorry for Celia by Jaclyn Moriarty
I went crazy when I found out that The Ghosts of Ashbury High was apart of a series and that I had three more before it to read starting with this one. I have it, now all I have to do is read it!

6. The Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
I saw the Book Smugglers review of it and have wanted to read it ever since.

7. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
I had this for a while now, but for whatever reason I picked other books over it.

8. Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston
I was half way through this when my 1st year exams started, and I haven't gotten back to it since.

9. Fire by Kristin Cashore
I loved Graceling but I still haven't gotten Fire!

10. Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken
People have gushed over this! I want to be a fan girl too but I probably need to read it first.

  1. I absolutely loved The Book Theif - one of my top picks of 2010. I have a Zusak book on my list, too. Good luck with your list!

  2. Hahaha this is a good idea!!

The book thief is A AMAZING book!!

If I did a list I would have to say Torment, Matched, Entice and Beautiful Darkness. Most of those are sequels that I really should read before their third books come out.

  3. I didn't even know Meyer had written anything beyond the Twilight series!

  4. Going Bovine is such a fun, zany, off-beat book/story. I hope you like it as much as I did.

  6. I got to halfway in The Book Thief in one reading session and never finished it. I was interested in it while I was reading it, but the interest fizzled out once I put the book down. Maybe I should go and finish it.

  8. I loved The Host. It takes about twelve chapters to really pick up, but after that point, I couldn't put it down. Beautiful Creatures is on my list too. Hope you enjoy them. :)

  13. Beautiful Creatures sounds like a good read - thanks for sharing these! You might also enjoy a new science fiction novel that I just finished called, Pink Noise: A Posthuman Tale by Leonid Korogodski. The author has created a world in Mars like I have never read before. It's well worth checking this one out.
