Reasons I want to change them: They're either cheesy (Hex Hall, Demon Glass, Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side), bland (Blue Bloods), not as good as other versions of the cover (Eon), twilight themed (Romeo & Juliet, Pride & Prejudice,Wuthering Heights), look more adult than YA (Overprotected), hurts my eyes (Linger and Forever), or are just wrong (Unwind).
I quite like the UK edition of Unwind.
ReplyDeleteI hate the new classic covers that are Twilight designed. I don't understand why we need to do that to the classics and also putting on Wuthering Heights that it's Edward and Bella's favorite book...what?!?!
ReplyDeleteOh, I *hate* that Blue Bloods cover. I'm not even sure why, but I do. *sigh* ah well
ReplyDeleteOverprotected is bad. It kind of looks like a DVD cover for a made for TV movie. The Twilight classics covers are a little sad.

Haven't read Blue Bloods, but never liked the cover either. Like Birdie, I don't know why either! LOL
ReplyDeleteFollowing from the hop. Nice blog :-)
I think this is really useful feedback. Sometimes authors get very defensive about covers and seem to think the cover shouldn't even enter into a reader's decision. But cover art is here to stay and it's importance can't be denied.
