Waiting on Wednesday (1)

Waiting On Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine.

This week I'm waiting on...

Covet: A Novel of the Fallen Angels

Product Description
Redemption isn't a word Jim Heron knows much about-his specialty is revenge, and to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charge with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins. And failure is not an option. Vin DiPietro long ago sold his soul to his business, and he's good with that-until fate intervenes in the form of a tough- talking, Harley-riding, self-professed savior. But then he meets a woman who will make him question his destiny, his sanity, and his heart-and he has to work with a fallen angel to win her over and redeem his own soul.

I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood series so I'm really excited about her new series!

Ballad

This book sounds really good. I recently bought Lament and I''m determined to get Shiver (whenever I can get to a B&N)

Here's the teaser:

He turned towards me. For a long moment, he stood facing me. I was held, anchored to the ground – not by his music, which still called and pushed against the music already in my head and said grow rise follow – but by his strangeness. By his fingers, spread over the ground, holding something into the earth, by his shoulders, squared in a way that spoke of strength and unknowability, and most of all, by the great, thorny antlers that grew from his head, spanning the sky like branches.

Then he was gone, and I missed his going in the instant that the sun fell off the edge of the hill, abandoning the world to twilight.

Beautiful Creatures "Trailer"

The Suspense! (lol) I like books that intrigue without even letting you know what the book is actually about. I can't wait to read this book! It looks like it'll have to wait until it actually comes out [ :( ]

New Reads

New Moon Trailer #3

I'm even more excited about New Moon now! I really liked the Twilight books because I had n0t read a book for almost a year that I really wanted to read instead of a teacher wanting me to read it. Reading the Twilight books led me from reading no books to reading 23 books from the end of May until the end of end of August.

Operation MacBook Pro

I'd like to call this operation help Kara get a laptop.
I can get this Macbook Pro if I can get 18 "friends" to go here - (my referral link) http://www.notebooks4free.com/default.aspx?r=1431043
You then have an opportunity to get a prize (after you do the same thing you did for me)
But anyway, when you go to the link, you'll have to sign up and then complete 1 online offer from the list of sponsors. I did Visa Print because you don't have to sign up for anything to pay every month. You get 250 business cards and all you have to do is pay for shipping. I decided to put info on the cards about my blog so if anybody wants to get in contact with me regarding a book they can use my business card. I actually think that it's a good idea to get business cards if your doing anything you want people to know about. I really need a laptop for school & would appreciate it if anybody can help me. :)

Current Reads

I'm still reading A Circle Of Souls. Normally I would have been done with a book in a week (at the most) but I've discovered that college life takes a lot of your time. I'm determined to use the weekend to finish this book.

New Reads

I'm so happy! I just got these books on Thursday. They came from Kristi from TheStorySiren (Thanks a lot Kristi!). I might not have a lot of followers (hopefully that will change) but ever since I started this blog which was almost a month ago, I've gotten a lot of books to read and review.

Devil's Kiss

This is a book that I'd really like to read. :) Hopefully I'll be able to get it soon.

Description: As the youngest and only female member of the Knights Templar, Bilquis SanGreal grew up knowing she wasn't normal. Instead of hanging out at the mall or going on dates, she spends her time training as a soldier in her order's ancient battle against the Unholy. Billi's cloistered life is blasted apart when her childhood friend, Kay, returns from Jerusalem, gorgeous and with a dangerous chip on his shoulder. He's ready to reclaim his place in Billi's life, but she's met someone new: amber-eyed Michael, who seems to understand her like no one else, effortlessly claiming a stake in her heart. But the Templars are called to duty before Billi can enjoy the pleasant new twist to her life. One of the order's ancient enemies has resurfaced, searching for a treasure that the Templars have protected for hundreds of years -- a cursed mirror powerful enough to kill all of London's firstborn. To save her city from catastrophe, Billi will have to put her heart aside and make sacrifices greater than any of the Templars could have imagined.

Wake Review

Not all dreams are sweet.
For seventeen-year-old Janie, getting sucked into other people's dreams is getting old. Especially the falling dreams, the naked-but-nobody-notices dreams, and the sex-crazed dreams. Janie's seen enough fantasy booty to last her a lifetime.
She can't tell anybody about what she does -- they'd never believe her, or worse, they'd think she's a freak. So Janie lives on the fringe, cursed with an ability she doesn't want and can't control.
Then she falls into a gruesome nightmare, one that chills her to the bone. For the first time, Janie is more than a witness to someone else's twisted psyche. She is a participant....

My Thoughts: I was pleasantly suprised by this book. For months, I fought hard against not reading it but I'm glad I did because I would have missed out on a good read. I went to the Library last monday to check out Ink Exchange when I found Wake in the teen section. I knew I was leaving for college on Friday so I would have to turn the books back in by Thursday so I almost didn't get both books but I figured I'd give Wake a try since I thought that out of all the books I want to buy, I wouldn't buy Wake so I might as well use the opportunity now. I loved how instead of chapters there were dates and times of dreams. The book flowed easily and impressed me a lot. It was totally different from what I though it was gonna be like due to the back of the book description. I rate this an A.
